Swizz Beatz came to Native Foreign with the assignment of creating an intro sequence for the Usyk Joshua II rematch world heavyweight boxing match. The fight was happening in Jeddah - a place graced by many famous boxers- including Muhammad Ali. Swizz collaborated with Nik Kleverov because of his experience creating the famed Narcos intro for Netflix (from Creative Directing and DP/Editing both the 3rd season and original title sequence). There is a mixture of mediums and formats all tied together with a gritty vintage feel. The Native Foreign team used a mixture of vintage archival footage married with new original footage captured for the fight, both in Saudi Arabia and tabletop shoots in Los Angeles. In turn, Swizz also crafted an original piece of music that spoke to the anticipation and energy of the fight, and delivered a memorable and powerful spoken word piece that amped up audiences around the world for not just a legendary rematch - but also a historic event that included the first-ever women’s boxing card in Saudi Arabia.
