In 2003, David Tao's Soul Power concert was hailed as a legendary performance. Eleven years later, "Soul Power II" seeks to recapture the essence of live music and soul. Rather than a remake or upgrade but a recognition and understanding of the creator's unique spirit, driving an unseen force within the audience and crafting a heartfelt experience for this era's concert-goers. Both versions of the Soul Power concert, I and II, are centered on the theme of "love," aiming to provide the audience with love and strength amidst a chaotic world. Inspired by the Old Testament story of the Tower of Babel, the program uses "love" as a universal language to break regional barriers and connect people worldwide. The stage design features an 8-meter circular turntable with eight column structures forming a tower-like shape. The dual-sided LED screens utilize the turntable's multi-angle to create a naked-eye 3D effect. The lighting structure uses PIXEL LINE to shape the tower, with ACME XP-20R and strobe lights adding visual extension. The custom-built lifting mechanism includes LED screens on the rising frames, enhancing the visual impact during elevation. David Tao's performances are renowned for their dynamic live energy. To appeal to a wide audience, the program seamlessly blends classic hits with interactive elements to engage younger fans. Visuals and songs incorporate playful puns, enhancing audience resonance and interaction. In Soul Power II, many segments are flexible, adapting to the live atmosphere and sparking spontaneous musical moments with the band. The stage and visual design reflect this musical essence, effortlessly drawing the audience into the performance. The concept of "Soul Power" has evolved from 2003 to 2024, symbolizing ongoing growth and change. The stage design, from the tower structure to the Layher on both sides, reflects this "unfinished" concept. Unlike traditional shows with a structured flow, Soul Power II begins in the purest musical form, with David Tao opening with just a guitar. Starting with the classic "Runaway," and explores life issues, followed by nostalgic hits like "Regular Friends," "Reimagined," and "Blue Moon," taking the audience back to the golden era.
